WCAG 1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded)
Level A
When pre-recorded video carries information visually that isn't in the spoken track, provide either an audio-described version or a full text alternative for the time-based media.
Common failures
- An on-screen demo shows actions the narrator never describes verbally.
- Slides displayed on screen are not narrated and have no transcript.
How to fix
- Add a separate audio-described track that fills in visual-only information.
- Or publish a structured text transcript that interleaves dialogue and visual descriptions.
